# The ISO is free. The firmware weekend is not.

HTML: https://omarchylaptop.com/why/

Omarchy’s own site is clear: write the ISO, answer five questions, get a finished desktop. On a machine that already likes Linux, that is true. On a 2026 OEM laptop with a vendor firmware blob, a Wi-Fi 7 card, and Secure Boot still on because Windows left it that way, it is a Saturday.

This shop has been that Saturday since 2007. We source a current name-brand chassis. We install current Omarchy as published at omarchy.org. We turn Secure Boot off. We test Wi-Fi, GPU, webcam, Bluetooth, audio, touchscreen. If a radio fails, it does not leave. You keep the manufacturer hardware warranty. You pay on The Linux Laptop Company — we did not invent a second cart so we could look like a different company.

## What we are not

- Not the official Omarchy store. Omarchy is a trademark of the Omacom Foundation. Write foundation@omarchy.org for partnerships with them.
- Not a Framework reseller, not System76, not Tuxedo. Those are their machines and their images. We install Omarchy on Acer, Dell, HP, Lenovo, and Asus.
- Not a white box. When the hinge fails you call Lenovo or Dell, like everyone else. When the desktop fails you call us: 877-547-3638.

## Why this exists next to thelinuxlaptop.com

The core brand sells twenty-five-plus distros. Ubuntu LTS is still the default for a reason. Omarchy is the one people are actually asking for right now — keyboard-first, agentic, tiled — and it deserves a front door that looks like the OS. This site is that front door. Every product link dumps you into TLLC checkout with Omarchy preselected.

## You can flash the ISO yourself

The ISO is free. You are here because Secure Boot, Wi-Fi 7, and a Broadcom card do not care that the ISO is pretty. Official Omarchy also says you don’t need a new machine — and that today’s laptops (it names Dell XPS) make amazing Omarchy machines. That is why people want a computer that already runs it. Not because DHH sent us.

| Path | What you get |
| --- | --- |
| ISO yourself | Free. You own the weekend. Secure Boot, NVIDIA, Broadcom, suspend — yours. |
| Framework / boutique | You buy their chassis and still install Omarchy, or you take their OS. |
| Here | Name-brand OEM. Official Omarchy. We ensure compatibility and test the radios. OEM warranty. UPS Ground. Human on the phone. |

## Shipping and warranty

We ship UPS Ground inside the United States only. Tracking is emailed when the box leaves. Typical time after we accept the order is a few business days to source, install, test, and pack — then transit. Dates on TLLC product pages are estimates, not a guaranteed delivery day.

Manufacturer hardware warranty stays on the chassis. When software fails, you call us at 877-547-3638. When hardware fails, you call Lenovo, Dell, HP, Acer, or Asus. Returns follow https://thelinuxlaptop.com/shipping-returns/ : RMA required. Change of mind is 30 days with a restocking fee; outbound shipping is not refunded. If the Linux install or a radio we tested fails as shipped, that is ours.
